Lumière accepts almost any video file in a well known format, including files with the following extensions:
webm
mkv
flv
ogv
avi
mov
qt
wmv
mp4
m4p
m4v
mpg
mp2
mpeg
mpg
mpe
mpv
m2v
3gp
3g2
Once your video is uploaded, we then process it into the required formats and sizes. Because of this additional processing, it's important that you provide a high quality source file. We accept videos up to 5 GB in size, though your ability to upload files that big will be dependent on your internet connection.
Larger files do take longer to process. Typically, 10-15 minute videos ready for use within a couple of minutes. On the other hand, an hour long video might take 20 minutes or more to become ready. You can monitor the status of your uploading and processing media files on the Videos landing page.
We do not currently provide tools for editing or trimming your videos after upload, so be aware that your video will be presented to your viewers exactly how it appears when it's uploaded. If you do make a mistake, you can always upload a new video!
